7. Being that Dixie is an Australian Shepherd she is naturally friendly. She is loyal and devoted. She will always aid anyone who needs her help. Working is her job but she loves just being around the humans and being a pet. She just loves following around her masters and doing what they tell her. That is after all her niche. Thats what she was bred to do.
Protection is also a great quality of Dixie. She will protect her masters from any harm being it a wolf or coyote. She would also risk her own life to help a fellow canine. If anyone is in danger where they could be killed Dixie will never have a second thought on help them.
Loyalty of course is one of those qualities most dogs do have. Dixie like most dogs has this great quality. She is loyal to both her masters and other dogs. She has a tendency to trust another dog before they should be trusted which sometimes gets her into trouble. But if you prove to her that you are trustworthy and you don't back stab her you will have a loyal friend till the end. But if you do back stab Dixie just know that you lost her for good. She may be very loyal but not after you do something to her. Its very hard for Dixie to be forgiving. After everything pleading forgiveness won't really get you anywhere.
Dixie is very brave and just wants friends who respect her. thats all she wants. No more back stabbing, no more hate, just respect her and you will receive the same in return.
8. Dixie is your typical Aussie. She has the short tail and the muscular body. she is mostly black with a white chest and a tan muzzle and a tan mask over her eyes.
9.Dixie has been a real pioneer throughout her life. Dixie was born in a small town in the east. She believes it was Ohio but she was too young to remember. There she was raised there till the breeders thought of moving out west. They took all there belongings including the two dogs and there six pups, one of which was Dixie. They traveled for months and when they had finally reached a town about ten miles outside Port Watch. Dixie was nearly one at that time.
One by one Dixie's litter mates were sold to different families and farms. Soon there was only tow pups left one was Dixie and the other was one of her brothers. The brother was eventually sold and Dixie was left. After about three months the owners decided to move into Port Watch for a couple months. They brought along Dixie and soon after they heard about Skyline Ranch. At the time to the luck of Dixie they were looking for some herding dogs. Dixie had never been taught to herd but there was potential. What would be her former owners, took Dixie to show one of the owners of Skyline. The fact that Dixie had never been taught to herd was nearly a deal breaker but in the end they came to an agreement. Dixie had fond herself a new home. Although it was not all fun and games. For the first three months of her life at Skyline she was put through vigorous training but it was not wasted. By the time her training was over Dixie looked as though she had been herding all her life. She was two then. Now she was working for her food and shelter. She spent her days in the field and her nights in the barn. Her life seemed to be perfect. Dixie however has had some rough times of it. Not all the dogs totally accepted her, for one thing her talent for herding. She had never herded before yet she looked like a pro. This made some of her colleagues envious therefor they didn't act very friendly towards her. No matter, Dixie was happy and thats all that mattered.
