The streets were busy today, it must've been some kind of holiday. Even the sidewalk was chalk full of people, luckily they were the nice kind. The sun hung in the center of the sky, proof that it was about mid day. Mr. Klaber, the general store owner, was busy dealing with custamers at the time being. They were lined up buying all kinds of things, suncreen, food, toys, snacks-everything. The day was pretty hot, and the cloths people were wearing consisted of shorts and t-shirts.
Desiree padded along the sidewalk, her coat nicly groomed, soft and silky. Her owners had just given her a bath, they did that with their dogs often. She had the scent from the shampoo, strawberry-kiewie. Desiree was in training to be a sheep herding dog, still her owners did not put her out there yet. Actually, they've been training her for a couple other things as well. The've taught her how to sheep herd, well, kind of; they also are training her to watch and care over any of the dog's pups, and her most important job- shopping.
At this moment, Desiree was wearing a bag over her back. It rested gently on her with two flaps to hold objects. In white writing it said, SKYLINE RANCH DOG. It one pocket was fifty dollors or so, enough to buy everything she was going for. As the people and children walked by, she happily allowed them to pet her. Then she would continue on. Reaching the store, Desiree pushed it open with her maw, then she went over to the back of the front desk. Jumping up on a chair, Mr. Klaber took the little grocery list from her collor, and had sombody get the items from the shelf. One by one they put the items in her bag, milk, bacon, meat, soda, and water. The price came down to an even 43.00, + tax. When the owner was done with her order, he took the money, then put the change back her her bag.
This was a weekly routine, Desiree shopping for the Skyline Ranch owners. It was a hot day, and the border collie mix had finished quicker than she thought. There was an empty shaded alley beside the store. Desiree went to the alley and sat back so that the food would not fall out. She let herself pat to cool off, and thought about the rest of the day. Desiree had not yet met any of the ranch dogs, she had seen them, but not met. So she could learn easier, the owners would keep her seperated, but today they were finally going to let her off with them. She was also going to be allowed to live with them. Right now, though, she was just trying to cool off.

Camoflauge Oh the joys of being a street dog. There were the good things and the bad things, but Camoflauge didn't care. He went about his way doing whatever he damn well pleased. It was particularly hot out on this day, and he was panting heavier than usual. He was a stray so he had no owner to feed him or take care of him. But he did not care, he was proud to know he thrived on his own without some "master" telling him what to do. As he continued down the streets he passed a few humans rushing to and fro. One little girl about the age of three saw him and said "Oh a puppy!", reaching towards him with her hand. He would not tolerate being pet like so many other dogs loved and flared his teeth at her, attempting to bite every finger off of her scrany little hand. Fortunately for the child her mother scooped her up and ran down the street, cursing at the dog for almost killing her "baby". Camo just sat and laughed as he saw her running, running his salmon colored tongue over his fangs before continuing on his way through town. Oh how exiting this day would soon become.
As he continued on his way he noticed a general store in the middle of town, people entering and exiting first with money in their hands, than bags of food. He licked his lips as he watched them, waiting for the proper victim to strike at and get his lunch. But right before he chose the human to attack he noticed a canine enter the shop, proud as ever not noticing him hiding in the shadows. He thingyed his head to the side and noticed she had on her back a bag with writing written on it. He did not know what it said, but he knew where she was from. Skyline Ranch, a ranch with many dogs who worked there for humans. He growled to himself at just the thought of it. Why anyone would lower themselves to work with humans he did not know. After everything they did to canines, why the hell would you work for them? His blood boiled at the thought of it, but he remained low and waited for the canine to exit the store. He was going to show that bastard the life he was missing by working with humans, and might even steal his lunch in the process.
As quickly as the canine had entered, they exited with many food items in their bag. Camo noticed a carton of milk, bacon, meat and water jutting out from the bag, but he knew there was more inside. He licked his lips and noticed for the first time that this dog was female. Perfect, he thought to himself. This would make it easier for him to take her. As she trotted away from the scene he followed her, but kept his distance making sure she did not suspect anything. So many humans were out and it was getting on his nerves. There was always that idiot who thought he was one of those who worked at Skyline Ranch and attempted to pet him with an open palm. He curled his lips up and flashed his teeth as he went, acting almost like a bulldozer with this motion because now humans were keeping a safe distance away from him. His orbs shifted to a glare, looking from left to right making sure not a single soul get too close, or they would regret it instantly.
Finally the female stopped not far from the store, in an alleyway close by. She sat upright making sure none of the food she carried slipped out from her pack. Camo smirked to himself and was quick to follow her into the alley; the fur on his back thrusting upwards and a growl slowly emerging from his chest. It grew deeper and louder as it grew from his stomach up through his chest until it escaped from his jaw. He eyed the food in the bag and knew it would not be long before he had it in his clutches. He walked towards the female while speaking, beginning his seductive tone trying to show her that he was not messing around, and he was not one to mess with. "Well, well, well what is it we have here..." he stopped just a mere foot away from the border collie mix, though he could feel her breath on his muzzle. "Out for a stroll for Skyline Ranch I see. Why the hell do you even help those bastards anyway, all they ever do is take and never give in return." He was waiting for her to speak before he make his move at the food.

The food had a flap over it with a little latch to lower the chances of falling out. At the border collie mix rested along the cool shaded surface of the hard cement ground, she looked around. A few rats had found their way out from dumpsters, stealing whatever food they could get their paws on. The aroma of the meat made Desiree hungery, although she had just recently eaten. That was the perks of having a home once again, she had food and water whenever it was suitable for her. Looking down, there was a small pool of water below her, perhaps from an unexpected night rain awhile ago? She didn't really care, so the mix dog took a few laps of water, finding it too taste alright, and not sewage like.
Desiree looked up, seeing a women holding onto her young daughter and running and cursing out someone. She watched for a moment with curiousity, wondering who she was afraid of. Wagging her tail with displeasure of not knowing, Desiree herd the voice of the lady trail off. A few other people along the streets had seemed a little nervous, and appeared to be watching somthing. Suddenly, a shadow appeared from the corner of the alley. The shadow was in a form of a dogs appear, it's edges growning, and making the movements of walking closer. Desiree watched with interest, unaware of this stray's personality or anything. Finally the shadow dissapeared, as a form of a dog had come past the wall and now into the alley. Desiree watched silently, wondering if he had noticed her. He did, and now slowly he walked her way with a low growl and teeth flashed back. With nervousness, Desiree took her glance away with him for just a moment, but the only thing behind her was a tall fence, she was trapped.
Scooting back as much as possible, Desiree felt the cold wall behind her, now she was definatly trapped. His body came closer and closer to her, until he was barly a foot away. The males seductive voice ran cooly in her head, feeling the breath on her face. She tried to turn her head from him, but didn't want to look away. "Well, well, well what is it we have here..." he had said to her, his voice seemed to penetrate through her body like knives. Desiree emitted a low and soft growl, afraid to go any higher, but it was her instinct. "Leave me alone." she said, closing her eyes for the moment. He began to question her lifestyle, working for the humans. She wanted to say so much, but nervous of what he would do to her. Finally looking him straight in the eye she spoke with a harsh tone, still the the peak of fear in her voice. "They may not give you anything, but in return for helping them, us dogs are provided with an actuall life." Her tone was angered, he had no idea. She wasn't just a pet, it was a win and win situation. She would help with their life, and they would provide her with food, water, shelter and everything.
The humans walking by had not noticed the two, and those who did probably figure, 'aww, look at the doggy's playing.' She had no doubt that occasionally humans could be rather stupid, but that was becasue they did not know just how real the dog's life was. Back to Camo, Desiree became even more nervous now that she had spoken out.

Rocket padded along on the sidewalk, feeling fingers run through his rich red fur. As he trotted along he noticed the grocery store and as he passed the alley near the store he noticed that the newest Skyline Ranch dog was there and a stray that he had never met. Rocket stopped and a low growl came from him, he turned back at a fast pace and came to another alley, this one with two tall garbage cans and a dumpster next to each other. At a fast pace he reached one of the garbage cans and lept up on it. "I hope i still remember how to do this..." He said, then lept at the other one, nearly falling off as it rocked under his weight. Rocket lept up onto the dumpster and lept up for the gutter at the top of the building, the first try he missed, the second he missed again and the third try his huge front paw landed on the gutter.
He lifted with all of his muscle power and barely made it. Rocket then started to trot along the top of the buildings and reached the alley with Desiree and the stray. The fence and a fear if hurting himself made it almst impossible but he had an idea. Rocket leaned down towards the fence and got his front paws balanced then placed his hind paws onto the fence, he lept downwards towards the two and landed with a loud thud and a grunt on the concrete. He trotted in between the stray and Desiree and flared his teeth, "Leave her be..." he said, a loud rather deep growl escaped from deep within himself.

Camoflauge
As Camoflauge approached the female, she backed up slowly trying to escape from him. It was no use though, for the alleyway was fenced in so there was no where to run, and no where to hide. There was a wall and a tree, nothing more and nothing less. What was she going to do, climb the tree to get away from him? It was no use, she was trapped. She turned her head for a slight moment to see if there was somewhere she could go, but she quickly returned her glance back at the Dutch Shepherd. It was a smart move, for if she had kept her head turned for one more second he would have snapped her neck in two. He smirked knowing this would be an easy target. Female, house pet and intimidated by his presence. Oh yes, this would be an easy job to get done. Then again he would have liked more of a challenge. It was not long before she had her back pressed against the wall between the two buildings of the alleyway. There was no where to go now, she was a trapped dog and was messing with the wrong male. He was pure evil after all, and not about to back down to anyone, especially a mutt of the Skyline Ranch.
"Leave me alone.", she sputtered out at Camo, her lyrics shaky and not even the slightest bit confident. He smirked at the sound of her voice. Did she really think she was going to scare him off? That telling him to "leave her alone" would make him back off just like that? She had no idea what she had just gotten herself into and was about to face the consequences. She then answered his remark about being a house pet, saying it provided her with an actual life. He just had to laugh at the sound of this, a loud and evil sounding chuckle which flashed his fangs as he did so. "Oh little lady you are so confused. Did you just hear what you have told me? Those bastards must have brainwashed the shit out of you. How can doing every single thing you are told be enjoyable to you? And what do you get in return, a pat on the back? A bowl of kibble at the end of the day? And what happens if you do not please them? You are punished that is what." With every word his glare became narrower and narrower, his voice becoming deeper and his tone having an element present that could not be described properly with any single word. Basically, he was proving a point an was about to show this bitch what he was made of.
Humans walked by the alleyway but none helped the poor female trapped against the wall. But one canine did come to her rescue, rather a husky to be more accurate. Camo knew of his presence before he had even entered the alleyway, because he heard him fumbling on the trashcans in the alleyway next door. If he was trying to be sneaky he was doing a horrible job at it. Pathetic really but he waited patiently (which was not like him) for him to "save" the female. His outline soon appeared on the roof of the general store, though Camo only saw him out of the corner of his eye. If that bastard really wanted to save the female he'd be quicker about it. The husky hesitated for a moment, before deciding to leap on the fence at the back of the alleyway before soaring through the air and landing with a thud on the concrete below. He was a large dog, a bit heavier than Camo himself. He had at first appeared as a wolf, but his breed was actually a husky. But he would not back down, he would fight a 200 pound Great Dane for all he cared. His ego was too high for him to lose any battle, or even to think about backing down to anyone.
The wolf attempted to step in between Camo and the unnamed female, but Camo stepped forward not allowing him to get fully in front of him. The wolf told him to leave her be, but that was the last thing he was about to do. He laughed once again as the wolf tried to back him off; snarling his teeth and growling at the Dutch Shepard. He looked over at the female smirking only how an evil canine could do it. "Ha ha ha you have to have a wolf protect you?" He changed his glance towards the wolf, lowering his pools to a glare. "Why don't you let the little lady fight her own battles bastard, and stay the hell out of this." His lip curled over his fangs and showed his blood stained fangs, a growl emerging from deep within his chest and his muscles growing tense. He was prepared to fight for what he thought he truly deserved, and was going to get the good in the female's bag one way or another, whether it was fighting both dogs one at a time, or grabbing it and running for his life. Option two seemed better, for he could easily outrun the wolf and fight him after he had eaten. For now he toyed with his options while waiting for either of the canines to speak.

His words echoed throgh her head, but she dare not say another word. So she could at least stall until she had another plan, some way to escape. Desiree lifted her back legs slowly, standing upright, so that she was less of a target. Although she was weak, Desiree was probably one of the fastest dogs in Skyline; and she could certaintly outrun this fool. Brainwash? Pat on the back? Bowl of kibble? Her rage infuriated her, "You have no idea what your saying! Your just a stray mutt that cant even find a decent place to live!" Her voice was stronger this time, and a snarl was emmited with her lyrics. "Your like a lost pup."
It seemed like there was somthing going on, and Camo was too interested to reply back it seemed. Looking up, Desiree say a more familiar dog. Rocket. He was the gaurd dog for Skyline ranch, at least, thats what Desiree herd. She never met him or Dixie, but had seen them both working. It was true that Rocket was larger and size, and was trained to be a gaurd dog. However, Camo was a street dog- he's had expirence for who knows how long. In silence, Desiree watched as the husky came up, then tried to leap in between the two. She quickly moved her face away as the stray stepped closer to block him out. What was this? Was she the stupid dansel in distress? All she cared about know was finishishing her job, and getting out of here with four paws. Desiree curled back her lips, releasing her jaws in a low, loud snarl. Two to one, this should be more easy.

Rocket was blocked by the stray and this only made him even more pissed off. "Oh the big bad stray can't win a fight so he has to pick on weaker dogs??" His choice of words weren't the best but at least he got a coment. Rocket snarled and out came a low, loud growl. He was pissed and wasn't about to let this flea-bag get the best of him. Rocket lept forward and slammed his weight into the shepherd. He growled at the mutt then turned back towards Desiree, his tail started to wag before turning back to the shepherd. Rocket stared at the mutt and barked loudly. At that moment a dog catcher's truck was passing by and stopped at the sound of his barks. The husky looked at the shepherd and as the dog catcher came closer, his soothing tone came to his ears. "Oh a Skyline dog, thanks boy...". Rocket wagged his tail and looked back at Desiree. One word went through the husky's mind, "Jackpot".
